The
Shelter Foundation
Established in 1988 by Mark K. Joseph, The Shelter Foundation expresses
Shelter's community commitment. As an indepedent non-profit organization,
the Foundation participates as an owner and service provider of
affordable housing for the elderly and low and moderate income families.
For over a decade, the Foundation also provided transitional housing
for the homeless. The Shelter Foundation makes grants to institutions
and non-profits which further community development and improvement
of the Baltimore region.
MuniMae
Municipal Mortgage and Equity, LLC (MuniMae) originates and services
tax-exempt, multi-family housing mortgage revenue bonds and asset
manages properties they finance. Shelter Group founder Mark K. Joseph
is Chairman and CEO of MuniMae, a widely held public company (NYSE:
MMA). Through its strategic alliance with MuniMae, Shelter gains
access to capital, municipal finance and housing markets nationwide.
